Soundalyzer helps with the analysis of video and audio files by automatically detecting acoustic activities. For instance whenever an animal is making a specific sound or whenever a person is speaking in a video or audio file.
Mangold Soundalyzer was originally designed to automatically detect specific, sporadic noises on 24 hour recordings in a barn. The reason was that our customer simply did to not want to watch the whole video to find just the spots with acoustic activities, because only those needed to be analyzed.
The software now is also able to extract sentence based sequences if only one person is speaking; which makes it for example ideal to quickly extract the interesting parts for a thinking-aloud-session that needs to be transcribed.
In spite of its complex audio analysis routines, Soundalyzer is a tool which is very easy to use. Only a few parameters need to be set to get very good results.
This helps to save a tremendous amount of time, because the so created events can be easily transferred to INTERACT. And this enables you to jump to exactly those spots in the video with the help of INTERACT.
Now it is easy to proceed with the detailed analysis of especially those auto detected fragments (e.g. what was the person saying, what was he doing at the same time) and the rest of the video as well if need be.
